Human Capital. A new level of personal responsibility.
As the corporate-paradigms continue to change, so too are the ways we assess the assets of an organization. In the new business-model of today, the greatest assets of the company go home every night. They are the employees; otherwise known as “human capital”.
How to assess “human capital” brings yet another paradigm shift. As it pertains to management and leadership positions, the traditional approach of measuring/evaluating an individual’s technical strength and experience on the job are no longer adequate. Although the “hard-skills” (technical knowledge) are still required for efficiency in managing outcomes; the new interest lies in the “soft-skills” or the individual’s leadership effectiveness. The key in developing this personal responsibility is known as
Emotional Intelligence (EI).
Emotional Intelligence, unlike I.Q. (intelligence quotient; inherent at birth) evolves around a set of learned behaviors that can be developed within the individual. EI is built on a framework of
five (5) core competencies that empower a new level of personal and professional growth within the individual.
An emotionally intelligent individual learns the ability to better communicate, connect and persuade behavior patterns within themselves and those around them.
The “ideal” training solution is a
blended, spaced-repetition delivery model. Blended represents a combination of classroom lecture and discussion groups with online technology to support key learning objectives.
This approach consistently builds depth of understanding over time and engages the participant to use these competencies in both their personal and professional life. Ideal participants for this course include supervisors, managers (at all levels), safety professionals, foremen and/or individuals in leadership roles seeking to achieve more from their professional career.
